About Megan, E-RYT

Picture
After graduating from college with a degree in theatre, Megan landed her first acting internship.  Requirements for interns included weekly yoga.  For Megan, the very first class was life changing!  She instantly immersed herself in the practice and completed her 200-hour RYT Teacher Training through the Yoga Loft of Bethlehem in 2008.  She continues to study with several well-loved national teachers, including Seane Corn, with whom she completed a Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training and additional Leadership Training programs, integrating yoga with activism.

Megan enjoys several different styles of yoga and is dedicated to making yoga accessible to all.  Her classes are dynamic and thoughtful, with a graceful flow from pose to pose, and a strong emphasis on alignment.  She gives clear and concise instructions, so that beginners learn how to practice safely and mindfully.  Above all, Megan believes that it is the connection to the breath that makes the practice transformative.

Yoga has the power to empower and inspire people to find true purpose in life and in 2009 Megan realized an important goal.  In 8 months she raised over $20,000 to support humanitarian projects in Uganda through the non-profit organization Off the Mat, Into the World.  In February of 2010, she traveled to Uganda for 3 weeks with the Off the Mat team to aid in the development of an eco birth center, seven room school and sustainable farms.  Since returning from Africa, she continues to work with Off the Mat, serving on the Seva Mentorship Team and igniting interest about OTM's programs as their Lehigh Valley Community Builder.  To view blogs from Megan's incredible journey to Africa, visit: alliedforuganda.blogspot.com

Megan teaches weekly classes at studios, schools and corporations around the Lehigh Valley, as well as private & semi-private sessions out of her home in Bethlehem.  She is a co-teacher for the 200-hour In-Depth Yoga Study and Teacher Training Program at the Yoga Loft of Bethlehem and will soon receive her 500-hour RYT certification.
